Have you tried a downward dog? There is really not stretching involved in the holding of the position, unless you are trying to push your chest to your feet and your heels on the ground.
If you are having trouble with it though, I would say start from plank and attempt to bring yourself back to Downward Dog. If you push yourself back long enough, you will get there eventually,
